On September 3, 2026, Wereen was invited to a forum and site visit at the Qingdao Citizen Center showcasing the city’s public service initiatives. The event was co-organized by the Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Big Data, the Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Justice, and the Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Private Economy.
Together with more than 40 representatives from across society, Wereen learned about progress in Qingdao’s “certificate-free city” initiative, legal services for businesses, and upgrades to its integrated policy platform. On-site demonstrations highlighted convenient services, including accessing medical insurance services with electronic credentials, obtaining queue numbers via the “Lu Tong Code,” and completing business procedures with electronic business licenses.

The visit highlighted Qingdao’s efforts to deliver responsive services with minimal disruption to businesses. Wereen will make greater use of digital platforms to streamline administrative procedures and support the city’s continued efforts to improve the business environment.
